This Privacy Policy explains how Sky Map Gift (“we”, “us”, “the site”) handles information when you use skymapgift.com to create and download a personalized star map. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to provide the product.

1. Information we process

Star map details you enter (title, names, date, time, place). These are used in your browser to render your map. We do not require an account and we do not store these on our own servers — they are processed locally and passed only to generate your download.
Approximate location. To pre-fill your city, we may detect your approximate location from your IP address via third-party services (ipwho.is, ipapi.co) and look up place coordinates via Open-Meteo’s geocoding API.
Payment information. When you buy, payment is processed by our payment provider, Gumroad (Merchant of Record). They collect the details needed to take payment and send your receipt. We do not see or store your full card details.
Analytics. We may use the Pinterest Tag and similar tools to measure ad performance (e.g. page visits, purchases). These use cookies/identifiers to attribute conversions.

2. How we use it

To generate and deliver your personalized star map.
To process your purchase and provide your download.
To understand and improve our marketing and the site.

3. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that make the product work: our payment provider (Gumroad), location/geocoding APIs, hosting (Netlify), and advertising/analytics platforms (e.g. Pinterest). We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and tracking pixels for analytics and advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them will not stop you from creating or downloading a map.

5. Data retention

Because we don’t use accounts, we don’t retain your map details after your session. Payment and receipt records are kept by our payment provider as required by law.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. For payment-related data, contact our payment provider; for anything else, contact us below.

7. Children

The site is intended for adults purchasing a gift. It is not directed at children under 16.
